Passivate
Passivation is a non-electrolytic process using nitric acid that removes free iron from the surface and forms a protective oxide layer that renders the stainless steel to be more rust-resistant. Passivation also enhances the steel parts' corrosion resistance.
T&T Offer’s passivation of the following specs:
SAE AMS 2700 & QQ-P-35 TYPE 1
SAE AMS 2700 & QQ-P-35 TYPE
SAE AMS 2700 & QQ-P-35 TYPE 6
SAE AMS 2700 & QQ-P-35 TYPE 7
ASTM A967
ASTM A380
MIL-F-14072, Finish E300
MIL-S-5002
Passivation is a chemical treatment for stainless steel and other alloys that enhances the ability of the treated surfaces to resist corrosion.
